And the Oscar goes to...

If you're curious about the stories behind a few of the movies nominated for Academy Awards this year, have we got some books for you:

Hugo is based on Brian Selznick's The Invention of Hugo Cabret, and is nominated for Best Picture, Direction, Cinematography, Costume, and several other categories as well.

The blockbuster hit--both the movie and the book, The Help by Kathryn Stockett is nominated for Best Picture, Actress in a Leading Role, and Actress in a Supporting Role (x 2!).

The book everyone has been talking about lately, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, by Stieg Larsson has been nominated for a host of awards, including Actress in a Leading Role, cinematography, Sound Mixing, and Film Editing. This is the first book in a trilogy, and the library owns all three.

As J.K. Rowling's iconic series comes to an end, Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows (part 2) was honored with nominations for Art Direction, Makeup, and Visual Effects. We've got all the books in the series if you missed them the first time around, or want to reread them.

Everything old is new again, so the saying goes, and Charlotte Bronte's classic Jane Eyre has been made into yet another film, this one nominated for Best Costume.
