"Live free or die: Death is not the worst of evils." --General John Stark

For many Americans, July evokes summer scenes of beaches, cookouts, and glorious sunsets.

As we celebrate our nation's 241st anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, let's not forget the work of countless men and women who have struggled to give us the freedoms that are the hallmarks of the United States of America.

Stop by the library to learn more about the founding mothers and fathers of the USA.

Be safe!

As the proverb goes, it is better to be safe than sorry!   Safety isn't something that most of us pay close attention to, but we should.  Being prepared can prevent painful and costly incidents.

The National Safety Council has information on how to stay safe in various situations, and tips to prepare for potential disasters.  Visit the NSC at: healthfinder.gov

For the month of June, the WMCC Fortier Library is highlighting books on safety and accident prevention in the home, at work, online, and in the lives of children.  Stop by and check it out!
