Spiked Boots

Craig Doherty will lead the third discussion in the Spring 2012 discussion/lecture series presented by the Berlin Public Library and the White Mountains Community College. We will be talking about Robert E. Pike's Spiked Boots, which tells of the lives of the loggers and others who worked in the woods in the early 20th century on the Connecticut and Androscoggin Rivers.


Wednesday, April 25th at 7 p.m. at the White Mountains Community College Fortier Library. Light refreshments will be served.

Copies of the book are available at both the Berlin Public Library and WMCC Library.

Saving the Mountains


The second in the Spring 2012 discussion/lecture series will be on Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m., when Plymouth State University scholar Marcia Schmidt Blaine will present Saving the Mountains: NH & the Creation of the National Forests.


The talk will be in the library of the White Mountains Community College. Light refreshments will be served.
